Introduction

The WebStation Schedule Trades feature lets agents self-administer trade requests and trade processing. Supervisors can automate schedule trading by defining MU WebStation trade rules to automatically approve or deny requested trades.

Use the My Trades page, as described below, to:

Use the Schedule Trade Board page (see Schedule Trade Board) to:

Use the Group Schedules page (see Group Schedules) to:

If the MU WebStation trade rules indicate a trade requires agent approval, the target agent (closed trade) or posting agent (open trade) reviews and approves or denies the trade request. If the MU WebStation trade rules indicate a trade requires supervisor approval, the supervisor reviews and approves or denies the trade request. When approving or denying a trade request, the system sends notification to each of the agents involved. If the MU WebStation trade rules do not require agent or supervisor approval, once you select a trade, the system automatically approves, validates, and processes it.

Note

When you trade a schedule, any activity notes for activities on the schedule remain with the traded schedule. The agent receiving the traded schedule can view the activity notes in NICE WebStation, if the activity notes have agent view permissions.

The schedule note for the traded schedule remains with you for the schedule date, unless the trade is a give-away trade. In this case, the system deletes the schedule note.

For detailed information, see:

Overview

If you use the WebStation Schedule Trades feature, and you have permission to trade schedules, the NICE WebStation > Schedules > My Trades menu item is available on the navigation bar. The My Trades page allows you to request schedule trades, specifically, posting partial or complete schedules for trading and indicating the types of schedules you will accept in return. You can post trades to the schedule trade board (open trades), or you can request to trade schedules with a specific agent (closed trade). Once you request a schedule trade, you can check the status of the requests or cancel pending requests on the My Trades page. You can also request schedule trades from the Schedule Trade Board page, the Group Schedules page, and the My Schedule page.

Schedule trade requests are available to agents based on rules a supervisor enters for each MU. The trade rules for your MU determine what types of trades you can request and accept.

If a schedule trade requires supervisor approval, a supervisor needs to approve the schedule trade request before the system validates and completes the trades. If a schedule trade does not require supervisor approval, then after you request and approve (if applicable) the trade and the accepting agent approves the trade, the system validates and completes the trade. When the status of a schedule trade request changes, the system sends a schedule trade request alert to you (and the accepting agent, if an agent accepted the trade). The schedule trade request alerts appear in the Alerts section of NICE WebStation.

These pages in NICE WebStation apply to the WebStation Schedule Trades feature: My Trades (My Trades), Schedule Trade Board (Schedule Trade Board), and Group Schedules (Group Schedules). The Group Schedules page is only available if a supervisor gave you permission to view other agent's schedules.

Trade Rules

For each MU, supervisors define the schedule trade configuration that enables agents in the MUs to enter schedule trade requests using NICE WebStation. Supervisors define schedule trade rules agents must follow when entering schedule trade requests. If your MU does not allow agents to enter schedule trade requests in NICE WebStation, the schedule trade request pages are not available. For an overview of the Schedule Trades process, see Final Processing of Schedule Trade Requests.

To view the trade rules for your MU, click Trade rules below the calendar on the Schedule Trade Board page (see Trade Rules).

MU Time Zone Differences

If the schedule trade configuration for your MU allows schedule trading between MUs (see Rules for Trading Schedules), and if the posting agent and the accepting agent belong to different MUs with different time zones, the system automatically makes the necessary adjustments to times and dates when displaying the schedules. For example, if an agent in an Eastern time zone MU posts a schedule for 10:00 AM - 07:00 PM EST, the posted schedule would appear to agents in Central time zone MUs as 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM CST.

Non-Tradeable Activity Codes

Supervisors decide the specific activity codes (scheduled activities) that are tradable in NICE WebStation. If a schedule contains a base activity code defined as non-tradable, or if any activity code on the schedule is non-tradable and the trade rules do not allow partial day trades, you cannot trade that schedule in NICE WebStation. Some activity codes trade with the schedule, some remain with the trading agent, or the system can replace some activity codes with the schedule’s base code before the trade.

Activity Notes and Schedule Notes

When you trade a schedule, any activity notes for activities on the schedule remain with the traded schedule. The agent receiving the traded schedule can view the activity notes in NICE WebStation, if the activity notes have agent view permissions. The schedule note for the traded schedule remains with you for the schedule date, unless the trade is a give-away trade. In this case, the system deletes the schedule note.

Periodic Data Updates

The system receives periodic updates for schedule trade requests on the My Trades page within 0 to 5 minutes of any new or updated schedule trade requests. For more information, see Periodic Data Updates for NICE WebStation.

WebStation Schedule Trade - Process Overview

There are two types of schedule trades:

This section is a general overview, which omits specific details fully described in the sections that follow (see Initiating Schedule Trades). Also, some of the items described in this overview only apply if a supervisor enabled the corresponding (optional) trade rules. For details on the trade rules, see Rules for Trading Schedules.

Refer to these topics:

Process Overview of an Open Trade

These are the basic steps for an open trade:

  1. An agent initiates an open trade by posting one or more schedules to the schedule trade board (Schedule Trade Board page), and indicates the schedules wanted in return, if any.

  2. Agents view schedules posted for trading on the schedule trade board.

  3. Another agent accepts (selects) a trade for which that agent is eligible, based on the trade rules. The accepting agent must have a schedule that matches the posting agent's trade request.

  4. The posting agent approves or denies the trade on the My Trades page, if the MU trade rules require the posting agent to approve the accepted trade (or if multiple agents accept the trade).

  5. The posting and accepting agents wait for supervisor approval, if required, and processing completion.

The system sends notification to each agent when the supervisor approves or denies the trade.

  6. Trading agents can view the status of their schedule trade requests on the My Trades page.

Process Overview of a Closed Trade

These are the basic steps for a closed trade:

  1. An agent initiates a closed trade by selecting a specific agent to trade schedules with, and indicates the schedules wanted in return.

The trade must be one the agents are eligible to trade, based on the trade rules of each agent’s MU.

  2. The target agent approves or denies the schedule the initiating agent wants to trade, using the My Trades page.

  3. The posting and accepting agents wait for supervisor approval, if required, and processing completion.

The system sends notification to each agent when the supervisor approves or denies the trade.

  4. Trading agents can view the status of their schedule trade requests on the My Trades page.

Basic Trading Options

When posting schedules for trading, the Trade your schedule page offers these basic options. In many cases, you can combine these options, and some of the options only apply if a supervisor enabled them (see Rules for Trading Schedules).

Refer to these topics:

Full Day or Partial Day Trades

Select the Trade the entire day option if you want to trade the entire day's schedule on the days you selected. Select the Trade part of the day option if you want to trade only a part of your schedule for the days you selected. For more information, see Step 3. The system selects the Trade the entire day option by default.

Note

If your MU trade rules do not allow partial day trades, these options are not available.

Give Away Trades

Depending on your MU trade rules, you could give away all or part of a schedule by posting schedules for trading, and then selecting the Give time away option during the posting process (see Step 10).

Note

If your MU trade rules do not allow give-away trades, this option is not available.

Initiating Schedule Trades

Whether initiating an open trade (posting to the schedule trade board) or a closed trade (with a specific agent), you can access the Trade your schedule page to start the schedule trade request process in one of these ways:

During the posting process, you will:

The system validates open trades (see Schedule Validation) and posts them to the trade board where agents can accept your requested schedules (see View and Accept Posted Trades on the Schedule Trade Board Page). Closed trades appear on the target agent’s My Trades page waiting for agent approval (see Approving and Denying Trade Requests).

Note

Many of the steps and features described in this section only apply if a supervisor enabled the corresponding trade rules (see Rules for Trading Schedules).

To post your schedules for trading:

Selecting the Schedules to Trade Away

Step 1

Get to the Trade your schedule page using one of these methods:

Figure 20 Trade your schedule Page

You can confirm or change the selected date or dates on the Trade your schedule page.

You can post up to 7 days for trading. If you selected a date for trading on the My Schedule page, one date field displays here. If you selected multiple dates by clicking Trade All in the Weekly view of the My Schedule page, 7 date fields display on this page. If you clicked Trade All in the Daily view of the My Schedule page, one date field displays.

Step 2

If you selected schedules to trade on the My Schedule page (as described above), you do not have to enter a date or select a date from the calendar. If you clicked Trade a schedule on the My Trades, Schedule Trade Board, or Group Schedules page, you must enter a valid schedule date or select a date from the calendar by clicking the calendar icon (). Enter or select a date, or change the date you already selected.

The schedule date you are trading must be a current or future date and must fall within the required time range, as specified by your MU trade rules. You must have a schedule on the dates you are selecting to trade.

Selecting Full-Day or Partial-Day Schedule Options to Trade Away

Step 3

If your supervisor enabled partial day trading, you can select to trade the full day's schedule or part of the day's schedule. This step is only applicable if your supervisor enabled partial day trading, and therefore the partial day fields are available.

If you wish to trade the entire day's schedule on all the days you selected, select the Trade the entire day option.

If you want to trade only part of your schedule on all the days you selected, select the Trade part of the day option. If you select the partial day option, enter a time range for the partial schedule you are offering for trade. To enter a partial day schedule for trading, select the start time and end time for the scheduled time you want to offer in trade. The times are in 12–hour format (HH:MM AM/PM) or 24–hour format (HH:MM), based on your language preference. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the time range crosses midnight. You must have a schedule for the entire time range specified.

Selecting an Open Trade or Trade with a Specific Agent

Step 4

Once you select the dates and full-day or partial-day option, if you do not have permission for closed (agent specific) trades, the system hides the bottom portion of the page. Go to Step 6.

If you have permission for closed trades, you see the Open trade and the Trade with a specific agent options. To trade with any agent, select Open trade and go to Step 6. To trade with a specific agent, select the Trade with a specific agent option and click Choose From A List Of Agents to display the Choose an agent window, then go to the next step.

Step 5

Initially, the Choose an agent window displays the ID, agent name, and up to three agent data groups and values (if configured) for agents in your MU allowed to trade with you.

Management Unit

This field appears if you have permission to trade schedules with agents in other MUs. Select a different MU (or All Management Units) in the Management Unit field. If you select All Management Units, an MU column appears next to the AGENT NAME column, and the agent data group columns no longer appear. The MU column displays the ID of the agent’s MU. The Management Unit choice list contains the ID and name of all MUs that allow agents to trade across MUs.

Find and View All

To find a specific agent, type some characters of an agent's name in the Agent name field and click Find. The list of agents changes to display those agents with a match for the letters you typed. To view all agents in the selected MU you can trade with, click View All.

Sorting

The system initially sorts the list of agents in ascending order by agent name. You can sort by any column in the agent list by clicking on the column header. Click again to sort in descending order.

Select an Agent

To select an agent you want to trade with, click the agent ID or agent name link on a row in the agent list. This closes the Choose an agent window and returns to the Trade your schedule page with the selected agent in the Trade with a specific agent field.

Close

Click Close to close the Choose an agent window and return to the Trade your schedule page without selecting an agent.

Note

You can only perform agent-specific (closed) trades for one day at a time.

Step 6

Click Continue on the Trade your schedule page to display the page with your trade request options.

The system performs initial validations on the schedules you selected. If any of the selected schedules fail this validation, the system displays error messages and you must resubmit schedules with valid dates and times (see Schedule Validation).

Requesting Schedules you Would Accept in an Open Trade

Step 7

This step of the process (after completing Step 6) displays the Post your schedule to the trade board page, which allows you to verify the time and date of the schedule you are posting for an open trade. On this page, you also select from three options to indicate when you are willing to work in return for the posted schedule. For closed trade instructions, see Step 11.

Figure 21 Post your schedule to the trade board Page (Open Trade)

To change the date of the schedule you are giving away, click Change Your Date Selection. The system returns you to the Trade your schedule page to change the date of the schedule you are posting, as in Step 2.

After you select the date and times, you need to select one or more of these options:

For each option you select, the system posts a schedule trade request on the schedule trade board. If you select several of these options, the system posts multiple copies of the same schedule on the schedule trade board, each one paired with a different requested schedule. If the trade rules require you to approve your posted open trade requests accepted by agents on the schedule trade board, the system processes the trade you approve. Otherwise, the schedule trade request selected first by another agent (and validated) is the one applied. The system removes any other schedule trade requests from the schedule trade board based on the accepted posted schedule.

Step 8

If you would accept schedules that fall on the same dates as the ones you are posting, select Option 1 - Same date and then select the earliest and latest start times you would accept, or select Any time.

If you have no start time preference for the schedules you receive in trade, select the Any time option.

Also, if you have permission to trade different length schedules, the I would work a schedule that is field is available. This field allows you to indicate whether you would work a schedule that is longer, shorter, or the same length as the one you are posting. You must select at least one of these options, but you can select two or all three options as well:

At this point, you can select another option, if you haven't done so already (see Step 7), or go to Step 15.

Step 9

To request schedules on days you are not scheduled to work, select Option 2 - Trade days off, and then select one or more of the dates listed in the I would work on field.

The system lists the days and dates you do not have a schedule, within the date range allowed by the MU trade rules. These dates only appear, and this option is only available, if you have days off on future dates within the period you can trade schedules (based on the MU trade rules defined by a supervisor). If you have schedules on all future days within this date range, there are no dates listed. In this case, Option 2 is not available to select and this message appears: Since you do not have any days off that can be traded, you cannot choose this option.

Once you select the dates for Option 2, you need to select the earliest and latest start times you would accept, or select the Any time option, if you don't have a start time preference. Also, if you have permission to trade different length schedules, the I would work a schedule that is field is available. For a description of this field and the options, see Step 8.

At this point, you can select another option, if you haven't done so already (see Step 7), or go to Step 15.

Step 10

If a supervisor enabled give-away trades for your MU, you can select Option 3 - Give time away. If a supervisor disabled give-away trades for your MU, Option 3 does not appear. Select this option if you would give up the schedules you are posting for trading, requesting no schedules in return.

At this point, you can select another option, if you haven't done so already (see Step 7), or go to Step 15.

Requesting Schedules you Would Accept in Closed Trades

Step 11

This step of the process (after completing Step 6) displays the Request a trade with <agent name> page, which allows you to verify the time and date of the schedule you are initiating for a closed trade. On this page, you also select from three options to indicate when you are willing to work in return for the schedule you are trading with the specific agent. For open trade instructions, see Step 7.

Figure 22 Selecting Schedule Request Options for a Closed Trade

If you need to change the date you are trading, click Change Your Date Selection. Also, if you need to change the name of the agent you are trading with, click Choose A Different Agent. When changing the date or selecting a different agent, the system returns to the Trade your schedule page with all fields populated with the previously selected values (see Step 2).

After you select the date, times, and agent, you need to select (only) one of these options:

For the option you select, the system lists a schedule trade request in the Pending table of your My Trades page, as well as in the Pending My Approval table of the target agent's My Trades page (see View, Cancel, or Approve and Deny Trades on the My Trades Page). The target agent must approve the trade you are specifically requesting with that agent.

Step 12

If you would accept a schedule that falls on the same date as the one you are posting, select Option 1 - Same date. If you are requesting to trade a partial day, select a start time in the I want to start at field. In addition, if you have permission to trade different length schedules, select a stop time in the and stop at field. If schedules must be the same length, based on your MU’s trade rules, the and stop at field does not appear.

If this is the option you want to select for the schedule you are willing to work, go to Step 15. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.

Step 13

To request a schedule on a day you are not scheduled to work, select Option 2 - Trade days off, and then select one of the dates listed under Option 2.

Step 14

If a supervisor enabled give-away trades for your MU, you can select Option 3 - Give time away. If a supervisor disabled give-away trades for your MU, Option 3 does not appear. Select this option if you want to give your schedule to the selected agent, requesting no schedules in return.

If this is the option you want to select for the schedule you are willing to work, proceed to the next step. Otherwise, go to Step 11.

Sending Your Request

Step 15

If your MU’s trade configuration allows agents to add comments to schedule trade requests, add a comment for the schedule trade request in the Comment field. Comments can contain up to 256 characters. The trade request comments appear in the My Trades Detail window on the My Trades page and the Trade Details window on the Schedule Trade Board page. Agents who can view the trade see the comment in the Trade Details window on the schedule trade board. Supervisors see the comment and, if the trade requires supervisor approval, supervisors can add to the comment, update the comment, or delete the comment.

Click Send My Request to post your schedules to the schedule trade board (for open trades), or to the My Trades page for closed trades. The system performs initial validations on your schedule trade requests (see Schedule Validation).

The system also validates your schedule trade requests against the work rules a supervisor configured for your MU to enforce (see Work Rule Validations).

Open Trade Results

If any validations fail, the Results page displays a message indicating the schedule was not posted to the trade board. The message also displays the schedules that failed validation and the errors specifying why the trade failed.

If the posted schedule and requested schedules are valid, the trade request Results page displays a list of the posted schedules and the schedules you are requesting in exchange for the ones you posted.

Figure 23 Results Page for Open Trade - Post your schedule to the trade board

The Results page displays this information about the posted trade requests:

Closed Trade Results

If any validations fail, the Results page displays a message indicating the schedule was not submitted and the errors specifying why the trade failed.

If the schedule you want to trade with a specific agent and the requested schedule is valid, the Results page displays the details of the trade request.

Figure 24 Results Page for Closed Trade - Request a trade with <agent>

The Results page displays this information about the posted trade request:

These links are available on the Results page for open trades or closed trades:

If any of the schedule trade requests fail the validation process, there are error messages explaining the problem (see Schedule Validation). You need to resolve all validation issues and resubmit the trade request before the system posts these schedule trade requests. A posted schedule trade request can pass this validation, and yet fail subsequent validations.

Once the system posts schedule trade requests (open trades), other agents can view and select them for trading by using the WebStation - Schedule Trade Board page. For more information, see View and Accept Posted Trades on the Schedule Trade Board Page. For information on selecting schedules for trading, see Accepting the Selected Schedules for Trading (Trade Button). If trading with a specific agent (closed trades), the target agent can now view and approve (or deny) the trade you requested on the My Trades page (see Status Tables and Approving and Denying Trade Requests).

Final Processing of Schedule Trade Requests

These sections describe the final processing of schedule trade requests. Refer to these topics:

Rules for Trading Schedules

The system validates every trade request meets specific conditions before posting or trading schedules. In addition, the settings established by supervisors for each MU enable and control many of the trading options available in the NICE WebStation trade schedules pages. Depending on the options selected and values entered by the supervisor, specific agents or entire MUs can have limited or no schedule trading available. These settings can also directly impact the agent schedule trade validations. For example, supervisors can restrict schedule trading so agents cannot exceed a (selected) maximum number of work hours due to schedule trades. In this case, the system would reject trade requests for agents who try to post schedule trade requests that would cause their work hours to exceed this limit. In similar fashion, supervisors can define trade rules for each MU (see Trade Rules). Supervisors can also configure your MU to validate your schedule trade requests against certain work rules. For more information, see Work Rule Validations.

Schedule Validation

The system validates schedules for posting or trading to be sure they meet specific conditions (MU trade rules) defined by a supervisor. Schedule trade validations occur when an agent is posting a trade (see Initiating Schedule Trades) or accepting a posted trade (see Accepting the Selected Schedules for Trading (Trade Button)). Therefore, the agent can be the posting agent or the accepting agent, depending on when the validations occur.

Trade Validation

An agent can only accept a trade request if the posted and requested schedules meet all the conditions for both the posting and the accepting agents. In addition, an agent can only accept a trade request if their current schedule for the date in question matches the requested schedule. If the posting and accepting agents are in different MUs and the trade rules allow trading across MUs, it is possible for a trade to be valid for one agent but not the other, because different trade rules can be defined for each MU. It is also possible for the posted schedule to be valid at the time of posting, but not at the time of acceptance. One potential reason for validation failure is the schedules involved in the trade can change between the time the system accepts or approves the trade and when the system validates the trade.

If any of the validations fail, the system sets the status of the schedule trade request to failed. The failed schedule trade requests appear in the Unsuccessful table on the My Trades page.

Process Acceptance

After validating a trade, the system changes the requested trade's status to pending approval or approved.

If the trade configuration requires supervisor approval for either of the agents' MUs (see Trade Approval by Agents and Supervisors), the status of the requested trade changes to pending approval. It appears in the Pending table on the My Trades page (see Status Tables). If the trade configuration does not require supervisor approval, the status of the trade changes to approved, and the schedule trade takes place automatically (see Final Validation and Trade Completion).

Once an agent accepts a trade request, the system removes any other schedule trade requests based on the posted schedule from the schedule trade board. If the posting agent specified multiple days they would work in return for the posted schedule, the system removes those additional requests from the schedule trade board. Similarly, if the posting agent indicated they were willing to work on the day just accepted in return for multiple posted schedules, the system also removes those additional requests from the schedule trade board.

Trade Approval by Agents and Supervisors

If a supervisor defined the trade configuration for the MU to require supervisor approval for all trades, a supervisor must approve or deny each schedule trade request for the MU. If the trade configuration does not require supervisor approval, then once an agent accepts a trade, the system automatically approves it.

A supervisor can approve or deny any schedule trade request which has a current status of pending approval (see Status Tables). When a supervisor denies a trade request, the status of the trade changes to denied.

Final Validation and Trade Completion

When a supervisor approves a schedule trade request, or a trade request is automatically approved, the system trades the agents' schedules as a background process. For this process to complete successfully, the system must, once again, validate the schedule trade request, as described in Trade Validation. This final validation is necessary because the schedules involved in the trade can change in the time since the system accepted or approved the trade. If any of the final validations fail, the status of the request changes to failed. If all validations pass, the system completes the trade and the status of the trade changes to completed. Once a schedule trade request is complete, the system notifies each of the agents involved in the trade (see Schedule Trade Request Alerts).

Depending on how well a schedule trade request adheres to supervisor-established configuration settings, the schedule trade can pass or fail validation. It is important to understand that schedule trade requests can pass the initial validations and yet fail the final validations. In this case, the requests can show a status of approved, even though they fail to complete. When a request fails the validation process, its status changes to failed. For more information on the schedule trade configuration and validation process, see Appendix B: Schedule Trade Requests Processing Details.

Work Rule Validations

The system validates your work rules when you initiate a closed (agent-specific) schedule trade in the Trade your schedule page or accept a posted trade on the Schedule Trade Board page, or when the system processes a trade. The system performs validations to enforce the work rules based on the schedule trade configuration a supervisor defined for your MU. The work rules include:

When you request a closed (agent-specific) schedule trade and submit the request or accept a posted trade, or when the system processes a trade, the system validates any work rules configured for your MU to enforce. If any work rule validation errors occur on your schedule because of the trades you made, the system does not save these trades. In this case, the system displays an error for the failed work rule validations in the Trade your schedule Results page (see Approving and Denying Trade Requests and Trade your Schedule Results Page).

Schedule trades can also appear as invalid on the Schedule Trade Board page for failed work rule validations. Click the invalid trade icon in the first column to see why a trade is invalid (see Select a Trade or Invalid Trades).

After you initiate a closed schedule trade or accept a posted trade, and the system validates the work rules, if the trade requires supervisor approval, a supervisor must approve the schedule trade request before the system performs the final validation and completes the trade. If a schedule trade request does not require supervisor approval, then after you initiate a closed trade or accept a posted trade, and the system validates the work rules, the system performs a final validation and completes the trade.

View, Cancel, or Approve and Deny Trades on the My Trades Page

The My Trades page allows you to view your schedule trade activity, approve or deny pending trade requests, or cancel trade requests you posted on the trade board.

Figure 25 My Trades Page

Initially, the My Trades page displays all your trades for all dates, including the canceled or failed trades (ALL tab). To view your trades for a specific day, week, or month, you can click the DAILY, WEEKLY, or MONTHLY tabs to filter the trades (see Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and All Views of Trade Requests for more information), or you can select a day, week, or month from the calendar (see Calendar).

To initiate a schedule trade, click Trade a schedule on the My Trades page. The system displays the Trade your schedule page. See Initiating Schedule Trades for instructions on trading schedules.

Hide or Show (Trade Request Status Table)

A HIDE link is available above each schedule trade request status table, except the Pending My Approval table. Click HIDE to hide the associated status table. You can show the hidden tables by selecting the table to show (or All requests) from the Show drop-down list below the calendar and clicking Show.

The Show drop-down list does not include the Pending My Approval table. You cannot hide requests that are pending your approval.

The Show drop-down list and Show button are not available if there are no status tables hidden. Selecting a status table from the drop-down list and clicking Show refreshes the page and re-displays the selected trade request status table. If you select All requests and click Show, the page displays all trade request status tables.

The trade request status tables displayed also depend on the settings you selected on the My Trades Preferences page, accessed by selecting Personal Preferences > My Trades Preferences (see Defining My Trades Preferences). When you hide or show trade request status tables on the My Trades page, the system updates your preferences page.

Status Tables

The My Trades page displays these schedule trade request status tables, if there are no hidden tables (see Hide or Show (Trade Request Status Table)):

Refer to these topics for a description of the columns in the trade request status tables:

For trade request status tables where no trade data exists (for example, when there are no trades pending your approval), the system displays No Data Available in the table.

The system sorts the data in each of the tables on the My Trades page in ascending order by the WHAT I WOULD GIVE AWAY column (or the MY CURRENT SCHEDULE column in the Completed table) and then by the WHAT I WOULD RECEIVE column, if the column exists.

Star Icon (Trades I Requested)

This view only column appears in all trade request status tables. A star icon in this column () indicates you initiated the trade request.

Smiley Faces Icon (Agent-Specific Trades)

This view only column appears in the Pending My Approval, Pending, Completed, and Unsuccessful trade request status tables. An icon in this column () indicates the trade type is an agent-specific (closed) trade. This column does not appear if the trade rules for your MU do not allow agent-specific trades.

Details

The DETAILS column appears in all trade request status tables. Click Details in this column for any schedule trade request to open the My Trades Detail window containing detailed information for the trade request. For more information on the My Trades Detail window, see Trade Details for Pending My Approval, Pending, Completed, and Unsuccessful Trade Requests or Trade Details for Posted On The Trade Board and Canceled Trade Requests.

Agent Information

The view only AGENT INFORMATION column appears in the Pending My Approval, Pending, Completed, and Unsuccessful trade request status tables. This column displays information about the other agent involved in the trade:

What I Would Give Away

The view only WHAT I WOULD GIVE AWAY column appears in the Pending My Approval, Pending, Posted On The Trade Board, Unsuccessful, and Canceled trade request status tables. This view only column displays information, based on your most current schedule, about the date you would give away in the trade:

If you have no schedule on the date, Off displays instead of the start time, end time, and schedule length. For trades you initiated, what you would give away is your current schedule you want to trade. For trades another agent initiated, what you would give away is the schedule you are willing to trade to the posting agent who requested the trade (if you accept).

Note

For partial-day trades, the start and end times and length of the part of the schedule being traded display, instead of the full schedule times and length. The remaining times you are not trading in your current schedule for this date do not appear in this column.

What I Would Receive

The view only WHAT I WOULD RECEIVE column appears in the Pending My Approval, Pending, Posted On The Trade Board, Unsuccessful, and Canceled trade request status tables. This view only column displays information for the schedule you would receive if the trade occurs, which is the other agent's schedule:

If the other agent has no schedule on the date, Off displays instead of the start time, end time, and schedule length. For give-away trades, Off displays instead of the start time, end time, and schedule length.

The Posted On The Trade Board and Canceled status tables display the start time range and length of the schedule you are willing to work in return for the posted schedule:

If you specified multiple acceptable options to work in return for the same schedule, the Posted On The Trade Board table lists the posted schedule multiple times, with each option you are willing to work on a separate row.

Note

For partial-day trades, the start and end times and length of the part of the schedule being traded display, instead of the full schedule times and length. The remaining times in your current schedule for this date do not appear in this column, since they are not part of the trade.

Approve and Deny

The APPROVE and DENY columns appear in the Pending My Approval trade request status table. These columns allow you to approve or deny schedule trade requests waiting for your approval.

For instructions on approving or denying trade requests, see Approving and Denying Trade Requests.

Cancel

The CANCEL column appears in the Posted On The Trade Board trade request status table. This column allows you to cancel trade requests you posted on the trade board.

In the Posted On The Trade Board status table of the My Trades page, click Cancel to cancel the associated trade request. When you click Cancel, the system displays a confirmation message. Click Cancel to close the confirmation message and return to the My Trades page without canceling the trade request. Click OK to delete the trade request from the trade board. The request moves from the Posted On The Trade Board status table to the Canceled status table.

Note

You can only cancel trade requests you posted on the trade board.

My Current Schedule

The view only MY CURRENT SCHEDULE column appears in the Completed trade request status table. This column displays information for your current schedule, after the trade:

If you have no schedule on the date, Off displays instead of the start time, end time, and schedule length.

Your schedule could appear in one or two columns in the MY CURRENT SCHEDULE column:

Trade Details for Pending My Approval, Pending, Completed, and Unsuccessful Trade Requests

If you click Details for any schedule trade request listed in the Pending My Approval, Pending, Completed, or Unsuccessful status tables, the My Trades Detail window displays the details about that schedule trade request.

For information on the details for trade requests Posted on the trade board and Canceled, see Trade Details for Posted On The Trade Board and Canceled Trade Requests.

My Current Schedule

The My current schedule section displays the details for the schedule listed in the WHAT I WOULD GIVE AWAY column of the My Trades page. If your current schedule is a different date from the schedule you are trading for (schedule you would receive), this section displays the schedule for both dates, (with the earliest schedule date first). For example, if you have a schedule for March 17, but you want to trade it for a schedule on March 19 (which is your day off), this section would display both dates. March 17 would display your current schedule details, and March 19 would display Off.

If this is a partial day trade that does not have a completed status, this section displays the entire day's schedule. If this is a completed partial day trade, this section displays your new schedule, including the hours you accepted plus any hours already on your schedule for that day.

The Hours field in the section header displays the total number of work hours for your current schedule (in HH:MM format), if there are work hours. The first row of detail displays the day of the week and date and the icon of your current schedule's base code. If you position the cursor over the base activity code, a tooltip displays the activity description.

This section displays these columns for your current schedule on the date(s) associated with the schedule trade request:

If the base code on your schedule is not tradable, the My current schedule section displays a message, in red text, under the schedule details indicating the activity cannot be traded.

What I Would Receive

The What I would receive section does not appear if the trade has a completed status. This is because the schedule you traded for has now become your new current schedule.

This section displays the details for the schedule listed in the WHAT I WOULD RECEIVE column of the My Trades page. This is the schedule belonging to the other agent involved in the trade. If your current schedule is a different date from the schedule you are trading for (schedule you would receive), this section displays the schedule for both dates (with the earliest schedule date first). For example, if you traded in your schedule on March 17 because you wanted to work on your day off on March 19, this section displays both dates. March 17 would show you are Off, and March 19 would display the schedule you are receiving.

The Hours field in the section header displays the total number of work hours for the schedule you are receiving (in HH:MM format), if there are work hours. The first row of detail displays the day of the week and date and the icon of the base code for the schedule you are receiving. If you position the cursor over the base activity code, a tooltip displays the activity description.

If trading a partial day, this section displays only the hours you are trading for (hours you would receive). This section does not display the hours already on your schedule for the partial day you are trading for (receiving). Once the trade request has a status of completed, the My current schedule section (see My Current Schedule) reflects all the hours you are scheduled to work. This would include the hours for the partial day you received in the trade, as well as any hours that may have existed for that day.

This section displays these columns for the schedule you would receive on the date(s) associated with the schedule trade request:

If the posting agent’s schedule is not tradable, the What I would receive section does not display the posting agent’s schedule details. Instead this section displays a message, in red text, indicating the schedule cannot be traded. The What I would receive section does not display the activities on the posting agent’s schedule that are not tradable.

When you approve pending trade requests and click Save, the system validates the trade requests before processing the trades (see Final Processing of Schedule Trade Requests and Appendix B: Schedule Trade Requests Processing Details).

The Approve / deny trades page lists each trade you approved or denied and contains information about the trade requests:

Note
